Nurse Shawna 2015

Nurse Shawna 2015 started because I wanted to further educate people in the community about preventive care and to start advocating for nurses as a support they could lean on to help elevate them. During my BSN, I started to realize I have a passion for ensuring nurses are reimbursed for their work and that nursing care plans are centered on nursing diagnoses, not solely on medical diagnoses care plans (including interventions driven by nurses and credited to the physician who signs off on the nurse-driven care). I was introduced to school nurses and their struggles with nurse retention, pay, and advocacy.
